A team of over 22 volunteers in rural Glengoffe, Jamaica, has been working towards empowering this small community of 5,000 people in order to sustain their environment against the impact of climate change. Known for their strong spirit of self-reliance and volunteerism, the people of Glengoffe rely heavily on farming for their livelihood. Heavy rainfall and long periods of drought have exposed the ecosystem of Glengoffe to landslides and have threatened biodiversity. The Climate Change Mitigation Project, funded by UNDP, has helped in conservation efforts and in training farmers and community members in leadership and climate change issues.

FURTHER ARTS - GENDER AND CLIMATE CHANGE SHORT FILM (VANUATU)

 

The Action Against Climate Change (A2C2) Project in 2013 was a Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (PACMAS) funded project lead by APIDAE (Australia). Further Arts was contracted to provide production assistance with the video outputs. Five of our experienced youth media team members acted as mentors to high school students to facilitate the development and production of their videos.
